The story
Old Wren next door taught you to fish on the home dock. Now, in every region, one pond, bay or pool has gone grey and still, and nothing bites there. It started forty years ago, the year the old Three-Knot Line broke. Somewhere under the Millpond swims the Pondmother, a fish so big and so old that only a new Three-Knot Line can hold her. Find out what happened to the water, and wake it up again.
Features
- A catch you feel in your hands. Every bite is a short catch of 10 to 20 seconds. Reel in, give line when the fish runs, and bend the rod back to turn it. Losing a fish costs nothing, and a gentler setting makes every catch calmer.
- Strange fish with gifts. More than 160 fish, and many of them are a little bit magic. Glowing fish light up dark caves, sparking fish wake old machines. Carry one in your fish jar and see what it opens.
- Bring Reedhollow back to life. Bring fish and coins to the village board and finish twelve projects, from a fish stall to a mill wheel and an inn. Each one brings a neighbour home.
- A whole world of water. Lily ponds and willow creeks, snowy fjords, a desert oasis, mountain lakes, lantern-lit fens, far islands and an old copper forest.
- Keepers and derbies. Twelve keepers, the old giants of their waters, and derbies against other anglers.
- Side trips. Stone skipping, fair nights, message bottles, the Stillreed Reserve and odd jobs for the people you meet.
- Gear, boats and an aquarium. Improve rods, reels, lines and hooks, fix the family rowboat, earn bigger boats and keep your favourite fish at home.
- Play it your way. A gentler catch setting, three game speeds, keyboard, mouse or controller, and 15 languages in plain, simple words.
